After what has felt like the longest year, let’s all take a sigh of relief that the most magical time of year is here– Christmas time! I don’t know about you, but one of my favorite things to do during this season is check out the fun ways the people decorate for the season.

As realtors in the Birmingham market, we’re in and out of neighborhoods all day– and we’ve lined up a list of Birmingham’s best neighborhoods to see the magic of Christmas.

The Preserve

Like a little Christmas town, this sweet, sidewalk lined neighborhood is filled with Christmas lights to brighten your spirit. 

Edgewood

One of Homewood’s best neighborhoods really shows out during Christmas. Wind around Edgewood Boulevard, Barry Avenue, East & West Hawthorne Drive and Roxbury Rd to see what Homewood has to offer.

Mountain Brook

Mountain Brook is adorned with some of the best Christmas lights out there. Our route? Stop by Lake Drive and Spring Rock Road.

Ross Bridge

Notorious for their Christmas spirit, Ross Bridge residents really bring the heat to the Christmas lights game. Our favorite neighborhood to drive through is James Hill (those lights do NOT disappoint).

Trussville

The Peppertree subdivision is Trussville’s jackpot for Christmas lights. Gather the family in the car and give this one a drive through… even the Grinch himself would be feeling the Christmas spirit after a ride through this neighborhood.

Calera

Christmas at the Waterford neighborhood in Calera hosts over 50,000 lights to dazzle you and your family.

Meadowbrook

This well established Birmingham neighborhood has got the Christmas lights tradition down. Take a drive down Meadowbrook Rd, and turn off on any street to be enchanted by the dancing Christmas lights.

Vestavia Hills- Tanglewood

Kristen here, when I was growing up, this was one of my FAVORITE places to see Christmas Lights. My Grandparents lived in the neighborhood and some of my fondest Christmas memories are in this neighborhood. We always saw great lights around her home, and we even saw a few appearances from SANTA! 

Birmingham-Crestwood

This neighborhood is so fun and vibrant and that continues throughout the holiday season! You will find lots of bold colors and fun decor as you peruse through Crestwood North and South. They usually have a few stops in this fun neighborhood during the:Wacky Tacky Light Tour | freshairfamily which will be this week!
